Bree Guy joined the 13 First Alert Weather Team in January of 2021. She came to us from WJAC-TV in Johnstown, PA where she worked as the Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter. While at WJAC, Bree got to experience it all, by forecasting for big winter storms, harsh temperatures, severe thunderstorms, flash floods and tornadoes. While there, she had a weather segment called “Bree Guy Tells You Why” where she explained science phenomena happening in the area.
She became a “weather weenie” in 7th grade after watching a video about tornadoes. She is originally from Pittsburgh and went to Pittsburgh’s Creative and Performing Arts High School where she majored in theatre. She then went on to Penn State where she graduated with a degree in meteorology and a minor in theatre in 2018.
While in school, she interned with the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh and at CBS New York as a weather intern. She has done research with the Center for Advanced Undergraduate Studies and Experience (CAUSE) on the impacts of climate change on glacial ecosystems in Peru and Alaska.
When Guy isn’t chasing storms, she can be found reading, biking, spending time with her puppy Nittany (WE ARE!) as well as watching movies and her favorite TV shows.
