As schools across the country remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, it may get harder for parents to keep kids entertained and engaged in learning.
Luckily, after already offering a free month of educational kids’ books and shows with Amazon FreeTime Unlimited and providing some kids’ content on Prime Video for free, Amazon is at it again, this time with Audible.
Now until schools reopen, kids can instantly stream Audible’s collection of stories — including titles across six different languages — all for free from a desktop, laptop, phone or tablet.
And while it may be meant for kids, the service is completely free — with no log-ins, passwords or credit cards required — so anyone can listen. Categories include littlest listeners, elementary, tween, teen and literary classics. Options range from “Winnie-the-Pooh” and “Moby Dick” to “Romeo and Juliet.” Titles like “Frankenstein” and “Wuthering Heights” can appeal to adults and kids alike.

Not all Audible books are free right now, so if you find something you’d like to read outside of the free titles, you will need a credit card to listen.
As mentioned above, you can also get a free month of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited. The service provides access to thousands of kid-friendly books, movies, TV shows, educational apps, games and premium Alexa skills aimed at kids. The service is compatible with Fire, Fire TV, Kindle, Android and Apple iOS tablets or phones.
Some kids’ content on Prime Video is also free right now, even if you don’t have a Prime membership. The free content includes Amazon Original shows and other third-party family series and movies. You’ll find more than 40 children’s shows on Amazon and 80 movies through IMDb TV!
Other services featuring free content right now include foreign language app Babbel and PBS, which is offering 24/7 content with its free PBS Kids Video app. Additionally, YouTube has Learn@Home, a resource for kids of different ages.
What have your kids been doing during the school closures to stay busy and keep learning?
