Amy Abdelsayed is the senior digital content producer and an assignment editor for the ABC affiliate station in Las Vegas, 13 Action News.
She joined 13 Action News in 2019 as a writer and editor, bringing with her a passion for community journalism in a city she knows and loves deeply. Amy has reported on everything from the great grasshopper invasion of 2019 to the boarding up of casino entrances as the pandemic prompted the Las Vegas Strip to shut down in 2020 for the first time since the JFK assassination.
In 2021, 13 Action News began streaming "How to Vegas," a weekly entertainment show highlighting things that locals and adventurous tourists can enjoy in the Las Vegas area. For "How to Vegas," Amy launched "Las Vegas Art Scene," contributing weekly art feature stories for use across all platforms that shine a spotlight on local artists and art experiences in the valley.
Her byline has appeared across a diverse range of publications including the weekly newspaper Boulder City Review in Boulder City, the magazine What's On, a longtime tourist guide distributed on the Las Vegas Strip which has since folded, and the alternative magazine Las Vegas CityLife, which folded in 2014.
She started her journalism career in 2012 at KSNV News 3, the NBC affiliate station, where she was a television news producer for the top-rated morning show in Southern Nevada, Wake Up with the Wagners.
Amy is a proud graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she was a writer for The Rebel Yell and a member of the student government election board. She graduated with a degree in journalism and film studies and a focus on political science.
