Downtown Container Park
Mexican Independence Day celebration featuring Metalachi, the world’s first and only heavy metal mariachi band. Downtown Las Vegas’ open-air shopping center and entertainment venue highlights Mexican culture with featured food and drink specials and live entertainment on The Lawn. On Sept. 13, Downtown Container Park invites amigos y amigas to celebrate ‘El Grito’ with headlining entertainment by Metalachi. Ghost Donkey Mezcal & Tequila Bar
Ghost Donkey is taking over the North Bar at The Cosmopolitan's Boulevard Pool on Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. until pool close. The bar will be transformed with Ghost Donkey’s signature twinkle string lights, paper flowers and teeming mezcal selection to create a premium experience. Corona cervezas, three types of nachos and four cocktail options, Espadin Spritz, Burro Tropical, Milagro Paloma and Mushroom Margarita, will be available at the popup. Catch a direct flight to the flavors of Mexico with a specialty curated tequila/mezcal flights courtesy of Milagro Tequila and Montelobos Mezcal.
The LINQ Promenade
The Linq will host a free Mexican Independence Day concert on its Fountain Stage to celebrate Mexican Independence Day. Festivities will include music by DJ Ethos, performances by Ballet Folklórico Sol Huasteco, and a headlining concert performance by bi-lingual hip-hop artist, producer and cultural voice, Olmeca. Additionally, over a dozen artists from Las Vegas will set up a pop-up “Art Bloq” on Sept. 14 from 12 p.m. to midnight. The pop-up art show includes a local collective of artisans who will be doing live demos, adding final touches and working on special projects as guests watch, giving visitors a chance to purchase original art created by the thriving Las Vegas Mexican American art scene
Mama Rabbit Bar
Mama Rabbit is an official destination for the first International Mezcal Week (Sept. 11-15) during which leading institutions around the world will celebrate and educate the public about the Oaxacan elixir in the week leading up to Mexican Independence Day. A few of the many proprietary spirits guests may enjoy during Mama Rabbit’s celebration include Fuenteseca MGM Single Barrel, the world’s first mezcal-barreled blanco tequila; the world’s first mezcal aged in a Californian brandy cask; and a rare type of mezcal ingrained in Mexican tradition, made once a year for special occasions.
