With two "Storm Area 51" inspired festivals coming up in rural Nevada, Storm Area 51 Basecamp Experience in Hiko and Alien Stock in Rachel, Las Vegas businesses are celebrating extraterrestrial possibilities in their own ways around the valley this month. Here's a look at some space themed events happening a little closer to home.
Project Oxcart: The CIA at Area 51
6 p.m. on Sept. 13 in south central Las Vegas
As part of their Distinguished Lecture Series, the National Atomic Testing Museum presents Project Oxcart: The CIA at Area 51. Join TD Barnes, a veteran of Central Intelligence Agency's special projects division, as he talks about his time working at Area 51 on Project Oxcart. Space Force - The Unofficial Storm Area 51 Pre-Party
10:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 in downtown Las Vegas, 21+
Gold Spike is hosting Space Force, the unofficial "Storm Area 51" pre-party, for a night that will be out of this world. Dress up in a space costume and get VIP express entry and free cover. Alien drink specials all night long. Sounds by DJs Kyle Flesch and Presto One. Limited edition Space Force t-shirt and pin available. *This Space Force is not endorsed by that Space Force. "Storm Area 51" Soiree at AREA15
10 p.m. on Sept. 19 near the Las Vegas Strip, 21+
A special chosen few will be invited to attend a "storming soiree" at AREA15 on Sept. 19. Winners from the party sweepstakes will receive an email from AREA15 sometime after Sept. 9 with the details. AREA15 is located on 3215 S. Rancho Dr., Las Vegas, Nevada 89102.
Area 51 Celebration
8 p.m. on Sept. 19 in downtown Las Vegas, 21+
The Downtown Las Vegas Events Center is partnering with Collective Zoo and Bud Light to host an out-of-this-world evening with top-secret entertainment. Come in peace. The event is free and the lineup begins at 8 p.m. with several surprise DJ sets late into the night. Must be 21 to enter. Exclusive, limited edition Area 51 Bud Light cans will be available at the event. Food options will be available on site. Area 51 Munchies at Pepe's Tacos Boulder
Begins at 6 a.m. on Sept. 20 in southeast Las Vegas
