LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The RTC is taking steps to help keep riders safe from dangerous heat conditions with a brand new approach to the annual Summer Heat Campaign.
In light of the current pandemic, the campaign will provide relief from the heat for riders while also maintaining social distancing. This year, the RTC is providing new incentives and taking precautions to prevent the spread of germs.
Other local partners are generously providing donations to support Summer Heat 2020.
RTC staff members will be visiting dozens of bus stops over a span of several weeks to discuss heat safety and distribute the items local Summer Heat partners are donating, including water bottles, face coverings, hand sanitizer and sunscreen.
Summer Heat partners are also offering deals just for transit riders. Present your paper or digital transit pass to the businesses and receive a discount.
Here are some of the places being offered:
- Fuku Burger
- Funnel Cake Cafe
- Habitat for Humanity
- High Roller Observation Wheel
- Marsigliano's Pizzeria & More
