The NV Energy Foundation has provided the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas (CALV) with a donation of $25,000 for the Helping Hand food assistance program, which provides meals to hospitality workers who have been affected by the layoffs and furloughs associated with COVID-19.
The Helping Hand food assistance program safely provides 2,000 bags of food a day to hospitality workers in need.

Each bag contains enough meat, beans, fruits and vegetables to feed a family of three for 7-10 days.
Last month, the NV Energy Foundation donated $1 million to nine Nevada nonprofits to provide COVID-19 relief and expanded energy bill assistance.
