The Nevada Department of Transportation will shift U.S. 95 to the north between Rancho Drive and the Spaghetti Bowl in downtown Las Vegas from 6 a.m. Aug. 21 until January 2018.

There will still be two travel lanes available in each direction. However, the U.S. 95 south to Interstate 15 northbound ramp will be closed during the aforementioned time frame.

The ramp closure and lane shifts are needed to rebuild a mile of pavement last improved in 1992. Additionally, crews are constructing an 81-foot-tall, half-mile-long High Occupancy Vehicle flyover structure linking U.S. 95 with Interstate 15. The work is part of Project Neon.

Motorists are urged to use a “zipper merge” where cars alternate turns passing into the through lane of traffic.
