Ethel M Chocolates in Henderson is kicking off the holiday season with the ceremonial lighting of the 24th annual Holiday Cactus Garden on Nov. 7.
Locally renowned Mix 94.1 radio personality, Mercedes, will host the event that will include holiday performances by Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino headliners, Penn & Teller, The Sound Collage, Sin City Opera and Nevada Ballet Theatre.
The holiday lights will be turned on approximately at 6:15 p.m. Once the garden lights have officially turned on, guests can stroll through the garden, take personal and professional photos with Santa Claus, enjoy the ice skating rink, and purchase chocolate for the holidays.
The garden is lit each year with more than 1 million lights. It will be open daily from 5 to 10 p.m. (open Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve but closed Christmas Day). The ice skating rink will be open daily from 10 -10 p.m. Admission to the garden is free but there is a charge (between $10 and $20 per hour depending on time) for ice skating.
