On Memorial Day weekend, Las Vegas is honoring those who died while serving in the armed forces and celebrating the freedoms they fought to protect. Here's our list of events, specials, and more taking place across the valley:
Support Our Troops
May 31 is the last day to send messages of thanks to U.S. military service members and their families through Operation Homefront's #Mission2Honor initiative. Use the hashtag on social media, and visit OperationHomefront.org/Mission2honor to send a message.
The Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetary in Boulder City is hosting a trio of events over the weekend. On May 27, volunteers are asked to arrive no later than 7 a.m. in the chapel courtyard to assist in placing an American flag on each gravesite. Participants will get a free commemorative WWI pin to show appreciation from the cemetery. Then on May 28, a ceremony will be held to honor the Special Forces at 10 a.m. On May 29, a Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. in the cemetery chapel.
Events
Las Vegas-based comedian Don Barnhart stars in the film "I Am Battle Comic," which follows his team of comedians as they entertain our troops overseas. The movie will premiere at AMC Town Square 18 on May 31 at 9 p.m. All of the ticket sales will go to the For Veterans Sake Foundation, which provides service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD.
Theory of a Deadman will perform during a free concert at Fremont Street Experience on May 26. The show starts at 9 p.m. on the 3rd Street Stage.
If you need to cool off from the heat, four pools from the City of Las Vegas will open for Memorial Day weekend. These include Martinez Hall Family Pool, Garside Pool, Municipal Pool, and Pavilion Center Pool. Click the links to see the hours of operation.
Six pools in Henderson will also be open from noon to 6 p.m. including BMI Outdoor Swimming Pool, Black Mountain Aquatic Complex, Henderson Multigenerational Activity Pool, Silver Springs Outdoor Swimming Pool, Wells Outdoor Swimming Pool, and Whitney Ranch Activity Pool.
The Wear Blue: Run to Remember run/walk/stroll will take place on May 29 at Craig Ranch Regional Park on the Commerce Entrance side. Participants will meet at Pavilion #7 at 9 a.m. for "The Circle of Remembrance" before starting the race.
Chateau Nightclub & Rooftop at Paris Las Vegas will celebrate Memorial Day weekend with an all-night party, hosted by DJ Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys, on May 27. Fans can party the night away in lavish VIP booths with bottle service on the Chateau’s Rooftop, featuring panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip.
Kicking off Memorial Day weekend and the Flamingo GO Pool’s Flashback Fridays series is GRAMMY Award-winning rapper, Coolio, who will perform live for GO Pool fans. Doors open at 9 a.m. on May 26. Tickets are $10 for Flamingo hotel guests and $20 for non-hotel guests.
From May 25-29, Tao Las Vegas will feature performances from Sounds by CLA, Ty Dolla $ign, DJ Ruckus, E-40, DJ Khaled, French Montana, and DJ Mustard. Check the link for ticket information.
Marquee Las Vegas will also feature special Memorial Day Weekend performances from May 25-29 by Greg Lopez, Andrew Rayel, Carnage, Deorro, W&W, Gucci Mane, Galantis, DJ Khaled, Cedric Gervais, and Ty Dolla $ign.
The Memorial Day Weekend party at The POOL at The LINQ hotel-casino gets started on May 27 with Tropical Saturday. This summer-long series welcomes guests to party like they are at the beach with inflatables, tropical drinks, and entertainment by DJ MikeAttack. On May 28, partygoers can cheers to Champagne Sunday with entertainment from DJ Josh Bliss and buy any bottle and get one bottle of Veuve Clicquot free.
Party poolside on the roof at Drai’s Beachclub at The Cromwell with Louis the Child on May 26, G-Eazy with Adventure Club on May 27, and Destructo on May 28. Each night, Drai’s Nightclub will also feature star entertainers with Future on May 26, Lil Wayne on May 27 and Wiz Khalifa on May 28.
Bally’s Las Vegas’ lush pool escape, Blu Pool hosts the Blu Pool Party with DJ Jack Stylez of ULTRA DJs on May, 27. The party continues on Sunday, May 28 with the cast of Crazy Girls from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Guests can take pictures with the cast while enjoying entertainment by DJ Jeff Tune-K of ULTRA DJs.
Not only is Planet Hollywood hotel-casino home to the Strip’s only stand-alone wave machine, the FlowRider, but the pools are the place to be for Memorial Day Weekend. The 2017 Ms. Pleasure Bikini Contest kicks-off at 3 p.m. on May 27. Guests can strut their stuff for a chance to win more than $2,500 in cash and prizes. Celebrity judges include members from the cast of Crazy Girls. Then on Sunday, May 28, the Chippendales (headliners at the Rio hotel-casino) will turn up the heat at the Planet Hollywood Pools. Guests can get their picture taken and receive autographs.
Caesars Palace invites guests to party like royalty on Memorial Day Weekend. “Party Patrol” will be in full effect on the pool deck making sure all guests are celebrating and having fun at the Garden of the Gods Pool. The pool will offer music, cornhole and a great party scene for those 21 and older. The pool, as well as Spanish Steps, will feature red, white and blue drink specials. The best place for pre and post party, Alto Bar will offer drink specials and a live DJ on Thursday, May 25 through Sunday, May 28.
Downtown Grand is hosting its first-ever free outdoor concert series of 3rd Street with Vince Neil on May 27. Gates open at 7 p.m. for the 21+ show.
Reality television heartthrob Brody Jenner will celebrate Memorial Day Weekend at Hyde Bellagio with a high-powered DJ set featuring his explosive sounds and hard-hitting beats Saturday, May 27. Known for his roles on hit reality shows including MTV’s “The Hills” and E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” the international entertainer will bring his electrifying performance to the hottest nightclub on the Las Vegas Strip as cocktails and confetti flow into the early morning hours.
Filipino musician Gary Valenciano will perform a playlist of his top hits, including “Di Bale Na Lang” (Never Mind), “Eto Na Naman” (Here We Go Again) and his collaboration with Katrina Velarde, “He’s Enough,” during a dynamic performance at M Pavilion. In addition to his musical career, releasing more than 20 albums, Valenciano is a philanthropist having served as the UNICEF Philippines Ambassador since 1997. Tickets start at $55 and doors open at 7 p.m.
Foxtail Pool will host Memorial weekend events for hotel guests and locals with DJs performing live from Friday through Sunday, along with cabana deliveries of a Stella Artois kegerator, equivalent to 35 beers, priced at $185; and beer buckets featuring Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Budweiser or Bud Light Lime, priced at $30.
The Plaza hotel-casino is kicking off Plaza Pool Nights - a dance and swim party on the rooftop pool deck - with Red Not Chili Peppers (a Red Hot Chili Peppers cover band) and DJ Exodus on May 27 at 8 p.m. The party will culminate with a live fireworks show at 10:45 p.m. Entry is free and guests must be 21 years of age or older.
Las Vegas Outdoor Adventures invites active duty and retired members of the U.S. military to explore the Southwestern desert landscape and receive 20 percent off any adventure tour or package on May 29. Eligible guests simply need to mention the "LVOA Memorial Day" offer when they book their reservation. Adventures include ATV tours, monster truck rides, and a private "Desert Storm" gun range.
The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino is now offering the “Rage at the Rio” package that includes: two all-you-care-to-drink passes to the lush VooDoo Beach and pools, as well as hotel accommodations. Bonus points for free parking for all guests.
On May 29, active duty and retired U.S. military members presenting valid I.D. can ride the High Roller observation wheel for free. In addition, that evening the wheel’s lights will be illuminated in the patriotic colors of red, white and blue.
Kids and families are invited to enjoy two days at the water park for Vegas PBS KIDS Day as Vegas PBS and Cowabunga Bay partner to support education initiatives in Southern Nevada. With a printed voucher, water park attendees will receive a special discount of $15 off of regular admissions price on May 27-28. For every ticket purchased, $5 will benefit Vegas PBS’ Ready To Learn program.
Bonnie Springs Ranch is offering $5 admission to the Old Town on May 29 to anyone with a military ID and their guests. The attraction allows visitors to experience life in a 19th century Western town.

BEER PARK at Paris Las Vegas will celebrate Memorial Day with live music by a DJ, over 100 kinds of beer and tailgate-style fare from May 26 to May 29. Menu selections include the Shock Top marinated bratwurst, priced at $10.95; the BBQ Burger, priced at $9.95; and house-smoked barbecue ribs, priced at $19.95.
To celebrate Memorial Day and say thank you to all United States veterans, South Point’s Garden Buffet will be offering a complimentary Memorial Day buffet for two on May 29 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Veterans and military members who show an active military card or DD214 form will receive a free breakfast, lunch or dinner buffet for them and a guest. To receive bottomless Bloody Mary's with the complimentary breakfast buffet, guests must be 21 years and older and present a valid form of ID. South Point will also have a Missing Man Table present on Memorial Day, a symbol reserved to honor fallen, missing or imprisoned military members.
M Resort Spa Casino will celebrate all veterans and active duty military with a complimentary buffet from 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Guests with a valid badge/ID can choose from over 200 appetizers, entrees, rotisserie meats and delectable handmade desserts, and enjoy unlimited champagne, beer and wine at no additional cost. Memorial Day pricing for non-military guests starts at $24.99 for adults and $17.99 for children, excluding taxes and gratuity.
SLS Las Vegas will celebrate Memorial Day weekend with DJs, beer, cocktail, and dining offers at Foxtail Pool, Retro Pool Lounge, Umami Burger, Beer Garden & Sports Book, Northside Café & Chinese Chicken and Center Bar from Friday, May 26 through Monday, May 29.

Travel Information
Lyft is providing riders with $5 off two rides when they use the code "MDWRIDE" between May 26-29. The promotion is in partnership with Budweiser and RESQWATER Proactive Recovery and is intended to keep drunk drivers off the road during Memorial Day Weekend.
AAA is running its Tipsy Tow service from 6 p.m. May 29 through 6 a.m. May 30. The free service is available for non-members and members, and provides a free 10-mile tow home for those who've had too much to drink. Call 1-800-AAA-HELP and say "I need a Tipsy Tow" to use the service.
The RTC will operate its transit system on a Sunday schedule for the Memorial Day holiday Monday, May 29.Residents and visitors are encouraged to download the rideRTC app to discover the many ways in which riders can get out and celebrate the holiday weekend by using public transit. For example, riders can:
