A woman's body was found on Monday morning around 9:46 a.m.
The body was found in an apartment in the 400 block of North Lamb Boulevard near Stewart Avenue.
It was later determined the woman had suffered from gunshot wounds.
Investigators say a family member had gone to check on the victim due to not having heard from her for some time.
The relative found the victim dead inside of the apartment and called police.
This is the 6th homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2017. The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
No suspect or suspects have been identified and the motive is unknown.
