UPDATE:

Family members identify the woman shot and killed Tuesday night as Chante Nicole Johnson.  The 26-year-old had four children ranging in age from five months to eight years old.

"You took my daughter away, she was so innocent," said Johnson's mother, Susan Robinson.

"She's a great mom, and you threw her in the street like trash," she said.

More than 48 hours have passed since Johnson was shot in the head, pushed out of a car, and left to die on a residential street.

13 Action News uncovered surveillance video of a dark colored SUV speeding away from the crime scene.

Soon thereafter, police and ambulance flooded the 5800 block of Delabarre Place.

That's where they discovered the young woman's body.

Robinson said she called her daughter 45 minutes before the murder.

Johnson was at a nearby shopping complex on Smoke Ranch and Jones.

She said she was heading straight home, but she never made it.

"My baby is gone, my daughter is gone," said Robinson.

Family members said there has been no arrest in the case.

They are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.

You can remain anonymous.

"They will be punished to the full extent for tearing up everybody's life," said Johnson's grandmother, Mary Bale.

Johnson's brother said she's an unlikely victim of such a horrific crime.

"She just stays at home with her kids all day," said CJ Johnson.

We're told the young mom, who was always smiling, was loved by everyone she encountered.

Loved ones said she was never judgmental.

Johnson wanted to become a corrections officer.  She was preparing for the exam at the time of her death.

A priest will eventually explain to her children what has happened, said family members.

"I'm going to make sure they're okay for the rest of their lives," said Johnson's father Preston Joel, "they're my grand babies."

The family has set up a fundraising account to raise money for her funeral.  Here is a link:   https://www.gofundme.com/5xtdqksk

Las Vegas police investigated a second homicide Tuesday night just hours after the first one.

Police said a woman in 20s was shot in the head, pushed out of a car and left in the street to die around 11:30 p.m. in the 5800 block of Delabarre Place, near Smoke Ranch Road and Jones Boulevard. A dark colored SUV was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

"I seen an SUV accelerate this way down the second street there and it was odd to me. I didn't know anyone was lying out here until the fire engines went by," said Lawrence Castro, a man who lives in the area.

When police arrived, the woman was dead from the gunshot wound. The identity of the victim will be released by the Clark County coroner.

This was the 34th homicide that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has investigated so far this year. A man was killed earlier Tuesday evening near Cheyenne Avenue and Rancho Drive.

"Everybody from the sheriff on down express a lot of concern," said Lt. Dan McGrath. "There's some plans being put in place to put some more people out in the street including people like myself."

At this time, no suspect has been identified and the motive is unknown.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
