The Clark County Fire Department responded to a transformer fire in Primm around 3:55 a.m. Thursday.
The transformer is located at a NV Energy generating station.
CCFD says the fire is burning hot, sending lots of black smoke in the air. According to the plant director, it is oil that is burning and they will not be using water on the fire because it could make it worse.
It is not known what started the fire at this time. No injuries to employees have been reported.
