Ruben Kihuen won the Democratic primary for Congressional District 4 Tuesday.
Kihuen started with a lead early in the night over his two major opponents Assemblywoman Lucy Flores and first-time candidate Susie Lee.
For last several months all three candidates have gained major attention, Flores being backed by Bernie Sanders while Lee gained major support from woman's right group, Emily's List.
Kihuen received endorsements from Harry Reid, former President Bill Clinton and the Culinary Union, which his mother and brother are both a part of.
It was expected to be a tight race but Kihuen walked away with 42 percent of the votes.
He'll now try to unseat Republican Cresent Hardy.
"We're ready to take on Cresent Hardy, it's unacceptable that we have a Congressman who represents a hardworking district, yet, he supports Donald Trump somebody who is against the hard-working class people of Nevada," Kihuen said.
