Police seeking persons of interest in homicide

Police are seeking two persons of interest after a man died Monday from injuries sustained in a fight last week.

The man was identified Tuesday as 72-year-old James Northcott. His cause of death is pending

On Wednesday, police officers were dispatched to Spring Valley hospital where a man was brought in injuries with injuries received during a fight. Police reported the battery occurred around 3 p.m. in a Walmart parking lot at Charleston Boulevard and Arville Street.

Investigators determined that the victim was in a vehicle and was traveling in the parking lot when he was reportedly involved in a dispute with another driver. The suspect exited his vehicle and physically battered the victim and then left the scene.

The victim went back to a local hotel where he was staying and was later transported to Spring Valley Hospital. He died Monday.

Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two persons of interest in this case.

The first person of interest is described as a black man in his 20s, standing approximately 5’10” tall, and weighing around 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray baseball hat, white T-shirt, blue shorts, white socks and blue Nike sandals.

The second person of interest was described as an unknown race woman who is small in stature, and was last seen wearing a black shirt and denim shorts.

They were last seen driving a 2003-2006 silver 4-door Hyundai Elantra with no tint and stock rims.

This is the 95th homicide investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2015.
