ORIGINAL STORY

Police are investigating a shooting at a home in the 10200 block of Yarmouth Sea Court, which is near Farm Road and Hualapai Way in Centennial Hills.

According to police, a man shot and killed his brother during some sort of domestic dispute. It happened around 3 p.m. Friday.

The man who was shot was transported to UMC Trauma when he later died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

The brothers are 18 and 22 years old. Police said the 18-year-old brother was the one killed and that he had a knife at the time of the shooting.

Two parents were at home during the shooting. Detectives are investigating the surviving family members.

Investigators are trying to determine what led to the confrontation between the brothers. They have heard variations of the story, including what the mother told dispatchers when she called 911.

"The older son is the one that shot the younger son for trying to stab his mother," according to dispatch records.

At this point, police are working to determine whether the shooting was in fact self-defense.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
