UPDATE APRIL 26: Police have arrested 55-year-old Frank Campis for the murder of Latoya Wollen. He was arrested in Garden Grove, California, on April 13 and extradited to Las Vegas. He was booked into Clark County Detention Center and is facing one count of open murder.
Police have not revealed how they determined Campis was the suspect.
UPDATE MARCH 21: The Clark County coroner has identified the woman shot in the head and neck Sunday night.
She is 39-year-old Latoya Wollen. Her city of residence is unknown.
"You don't shoot a woman in the back of the head," said her ex-husband Ishe Smith, a professional boxer. "Take her away from her three kids."
Smith has three kids with Wollen, ages 10, 11 and 15. The couple split 10 years ago but Smith has good memories with the mother of his three children.
"It's just very unfortunate someone took her life before she could bounce back as a mother," he said.
Police have not identified a suspect.
ORIGINAL STORY
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- Police say a woman was shot dead outside of the Dollar Tree near Flamingo and Maryland Sunday night.
The call came in at 8:45 p.m.
Witnesses told police they thought the woman had head trauma but later realized she was shot in the back of the head.
Police say the woman was sitting down with three shopping bags from the Dollar Tree. She had headphones in and police believe she may have been waiting for a ride.
Police do not believe this was a robbery because the woman's phone and purse were still with her.
The Dollar Tree has useful surveillance video that police will look more into Sunday night and Monday.
