UPDATE: Woman found dead after Laughlin apartment fire identified

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Crystal Renken of Laughlin, Nevada.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A person was found dead after an apartment fire in Laughlin Monday.

Around 5:44 p.m., the Clark County Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in the 3600 block of Needles Highway.

Upon arrival, personnel reported smoke showing from the second floor of a two-story apartment complex. Crews made an offensive attack into the apartment and extinguished the fire around 5:56 p.m.

While conducting a search of the residence, one person was found deceased. No other injuries were reported.

Firefighters were able to prevent the extension of the fire to other units in the building.

The fire is under investigation. Damages have not been estimated.
