Incident over at Nellis Air Force Base

UPDATE: Nellis AFB notified the media at approximately 2:40 p.m. that the incident was over at the base. The individual involved was taken into custody by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. 
 
"We take all threats to our Airmen, families and installation seriously. We are grateful for the support of local authorities during today's events," said Colonel Richard H. Boutwell, 99th Air Base Wing commander, "We are glad the situation terminated uneventfully."
 
EARLIER STORY
 
According to Nellis Air Force Base, an individual showed up at the main gate shortly before noon on Wednesday saying that there was a bomb in the individual's vehicle.
 
Nellis and local security personnel have cordoned off the area near the gate and are asking the public to stay away while explosive ordinance disposal personnel investigate and respond to the situation.
 
The main gate has been closed and there are also road closures in effect. 
 
The incident was reported at 11:50 a.m.
