A 35-year-old man who was wounded by Las Vegas police during a stolen car chase has pleaded not guilty to felony charges against him.

A judge on Tuesday set trial June 21 for Gilberto Gutierrez, who is being held on $500,000 bail following his indictment in Clark County District Court.

Gutierrez was arrested on felony auto theft, assault and weapon charges and a misdemeanor possession of burglary tools count after he was shot Jan. 26 in a neighborhood east of downtown Las Vegas. He was hospitalized, and is now being held at the Clark County jail on $500,000 bail.

Police say Officer Samuel Solorio shot Gutierrez as Gutierrez pointed a handgun and ran from a police motorcycle officer, David Corbin. Police say Gutierrez had a loaded handgun, but he didn't shoot.
