A student yelled "clowns" at Leavitt Middle School Thursday, leading to injuries to other students.
Clark County School District police said students started to run after the yell and six students had to be seen by a nurse due to trample type injuries. One student was transported to the hospital for further evaluation but had non-life threatening injuries.
Administration at the school near Lone Mountain Road and Buffalo Drive is dealing with the students involved in the prank.
Las Vegas police also received two calls about clown threats Thursday night but both were unfounded. One said there was a clown with a machete near Las Vegas Boulevard Street around 7:23 p.m. and another said there was a clown with a knife around 7:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of North Lamont Street, near Nellis Boulevard and Craig Road.
A driver near Cheyenne Avenue and Rampart Boulevard also reported a driver with a clown mask next to them Thursday morning.
