The Las Vegas community came together on Monday tonight to remember an off-duty Las Vegas police officer who died during the mass shooting on Sunday night.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Officer Charleston Hartfield was also a football coach and the event was held on the football field at Ed Fountain Park.

Hartfield coached the Henderson Cowboys, a youth football team. He was known as "Coach Chuck." Many of the players were obviously emotional at the event and spoke about how they felt when they heard the terrible news.

Friends of the police officer and coach told Action News that he is survived by his wife and three young children.
