The Powerball jackpot is now estimated to be $800 million and the next drawing will take place Saturday night.
It is the largest jackpot in U.S. history. The largest lottery jackpot to date was won in three states in March 2012, according to ABC News.
Powerball is played in 44 U.S. states as well as the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Island and Puerto Rico.
Unfortunately, Nevada is not one of those states. However, the two closest locations to buy tickets -- one in California and one in Arizona -- are a fairly short drive from the valley.

Hundreds of people from the Las Vegas area and California were lined up on Thursday night outside of the Primm Lotto Store. But the line was much shorter earlier in the day at Rosie's Den on U.S. 93 in Arizona according to several people that Action News spoke with.

If you win the lottery, there are several things that winners should do.
Fist of all, make sure that the back of the ticket is signed.

Second, stay anonymous if possible. In Arizona, anyone who wins more than $600 is allowed to stay anonymous for at least 90 days.
Hire someone to help manage your winnings.
And, don't spend the money too fast.
