Video catches the moment a fiery truck explodes at the Sportsman's Royal Manor near Flamingo and Tropicana Wednesday morning.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a roofing company's utility truck fully engulfed in flames. Those flames then spread from the truck to the third story of one of the housing units.

Mark Staple lives on the second floor and said he could see the smoke coming into his apartment.

"A tenant came by banging on all the doors telling us to get out," Staple said. "I immediately tried to grab everything I could grab cause the fire was catching up to the second tier."

Video also catches the fire spreading to a nearby car.

Two civilians were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening conditions.

A total of 24 units were evacuated during the fire and any displaced residents were in the process of being relocated to other units by property management.

Staple said while he's thankful he made it out okay, many people had to wait in the heat for another place to stay.

"I'm really upset because it's hot out here and were in the heat and we have to wait like two or three hours to get another room," Staple said.

Firefighters also had extra crews in hand to fight the fire.

Fire officials says when temperatures are this hot, crews have to be swapped out after 30 minutes of work.
