Las Vegas and Clark County firefighters responded to a garage fire in a home on La Paca Avenue, near Hualapai Way and West Charleston Boulevard at 8:00 p.m. on May 26.
Firefighters say heavy flames and smoke was showing from the garage of the two-story home. A car parked inside the garage also caught fire, while a car parked in the driveway also suffered damages. Fire crews quickly put water on the fire and stopped it from into the home.
They say the garage was gutted and one car was destroyed by the fire. The inside of the home suffered moderate smoke damage and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Possible gunfire or explosions during the fire were reported but investigators determined there were fireworks stored in the garage which accounted for the gunshot sounds.
