UPDATE: Ex-Del Sol High School campus monitor sentenced to prison

UPDATE JUNE 1, 2017: Former Del Sol campus monitor Ati Poni was sentenced to a maximum of 72 months (6 years) or a minimum of 28 months at the Nevada Department of Corrections on charges of coercion sexually motivated and child abuse, neglect, or endangerment.

Poni must also register as a sex offender within 48 hours upon release from any term of probation, parole or imprisonment.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- A Clark County School District campus monitor has been arrested on charges of sexual assault.

35-year-old Ati Poni, who works at Del Sol High School, was arrested on Monday afternoon.

He is facing 1 count of sexual assault, 4 counts of sex acts with an adult school employee/volunteer or pupil between 16-17 years old, and 3 counts of kidnapping of a minor.

Poni has been employed by the school district since October 2015. He has been suspended without pay pending an investigation. 

He also served as a coach at Del Sol High School.

According to the arrest report, the girl's father called police after she confessed she had sex with Poni, one of her coaches and a family friend.

The report says Poni touched her at a family party and also that Poni pulled the girl out of class dozens of times.
