UPDATE: The victims have been identified as 48-year-old Maria Dennis and 38-year-old Tracy Simpson.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Police are investigating a crash where two people have died.
It happened around 5:45 p.m. on Monday on the northern 215 beltway near Aliante Parkway. Investigators say 3 vehicles were involved.
A man and woman were confirmed dead. Each of them were drivers in separate vehicles that collided head on.
A third car was involved in this crash. There was a man and a woman in that car. They were transported to the hospital with minor and non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers are unsure who and what caused the crash.
There are several road closures in the area. Both directions of the beltway were closed between North 5th Street and Aliante Parkway for several hours.
