A recent survey found that a significant number of Americans unknowingly enrolled in auto pay.
The CreditCards.com survey shows 1 in 3 Americans signed up for auto pay. It mostly happens when signing up for a service that carries a recurring charge like a cell phone or gym membership.
The survey also found that turning off the auto pay option is typically not easy.
