Parents at Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy are concerned about a possible change in ownership, though some are changing their mind.
The Andre Agassi Foundation sent several parents out to New York City to check out Democracy Prep, the New-York based charter school that could take over Agassi Prep as early as next school year.
Parents were initially concerned that Democracy Prep had a reputation for being too strict. Now, some parents say they are open to the changes.
"I had to be very open minded about what was good for the community... the school, and the kids," said Otis Tanner, a parent who recently returned from New York.
Parents had the opportunity this week, including Wednesday night, to ask Democracy Prep educators more questions about their concerns.

Violeta Rodriguez and Christine Brown were among some other parents who traveled to New York.
"It's not a partnership, it's a takeover," Rodriguez said Wednesday. "That's how we see it."
"A lot of the same things they did there, we did," Brown said. "It's not a pipeline into the prison line."
Brown wants parents to keep a open mind about the changes.
The Agassi Prep governing board is expected to make a final vote on the changes next week.
