6 P.M. UPDATE NOV. 20: The driver of the semi truck reportedly made an illegal left turn resulting in the crash that killed the 3-year-old child.

UPDATE NOV. 20: According to Nevada Highway Patrol, a 3-year-old child in the crash has died. 

There were 5 people, one woman and four children, in the van.

The woman and two of the children were not transported. The 3-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy were transported. The older boy is still alive.

The semi driver did not suffer any injuries. 

ORIGINAL STORY

Two juveniles were trapped inside a van after a crash on northbound Interstate 15 near mile marker 77.

Officials say the crash happened around 4:05 p.m. Sunday and involved a passenger van and a semi truck. The van was pinned under the semi, and the two juveniles had to be extricated from the van.

One of the juveniles was taken to the hospital by helicopter, and the other was transported on the ground. Their condition is unknown at this time.

It's unclear if there were any other injuries, and there is no information about how many people were in the van. The cause of the crash is also unknown.

The northbound lane of Interstate 15 is closed near the area, though traffic is getting by in the right travel lane.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating this case. More information to come.
