Distance runner Reese Leoncavallo, known to teammates as "the Hawk," was honored for his athletic performance, positive attitude, and the inspiration he brings to Green Valley High School.

It was a special day for West Career and Technical Academy senior Isabella Savino. The soccer team captain not only leads on the pitch but also in the classroom with a 4.56 GPA.

Avery Meservey is a captain in volleyball and flag football, and is on track to be valedictorian of her class at Centennial High School.

This month's Academic Athlete is Silverado senior Savannah Stokes, a four-year varsity athlete with a 4.7 GPA. Her coaches say her relentless commitment is what separates her from the rest.

Valley High School senior Quinn Steidler couldn't believe her eyes when she saw her family, friends, classmates and coaches cheering her for earning Channel 13's Academic Athlete of the Month Award.

Because of her commitment to performance on and off the court, Angelina DeGrange is April's Academic Athlete of the Month.
